Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Our volunteers get involved where they can make the biggest impact in ways that combine their interests and expertise with vital work that supports our mission.
You can volunteer for a variety of opportunities – from serving on the AADC Alumnae Reunion Weekend Committee, helping to review alumnae candidates for Fellowships or Alumnae Awards, matching mentors and mentees for our popular AADC Mabel’s Alumnae Mentoring Program, organizing the Victoria Dabrowski Schmidt ’42 Workplace & Professional Development Symposium, serving on the Lectures committee, chairing a regional group or affinity network, helping preserve the history of the AADC by joining the Memorabilia Committee, or providing your financial expertise to our Investment Committee – plus so much more.
We hold a Leadership Training session in the fall to train our alumnae on opportunities and policies. In addition, volunteers are given information and resources to assist them in fulfilling their roles. Given the recent concerns in the United States about the use of data, the recent changes in global privacy laws, and our own strong sense of obligation to safeguard our members’ privacy as well as the AADC’s proprietary information, we have taken appropriate action to ensure the security of potentially sensitive data. To that end, AADC policy, as adopted by the board, now requires all volunteers to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Download the confidentiality agreement here.
We will be adding specific modules to this website that will provide insight into our approach to working with our volunteers.
Even if you can spare just a few hours to assist at the Alumnae office, we would be delighted to have you. To get involved, please contact Lizethe Martinez ‘13 at the AADC at lmartinez@douglassalumnae.org or call us at (732) 246-1600.
