Support for DRC

The Douglass Fund Trust was created and funded by the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College on April 15, 1969 for the exclusive benefit of Douglass College and her students. Today, this fund has grown from a modest initial gift of $1000 from the AADC to $42,830,958 as of June 30, 2019.

The AADC provides prudent stewardship of the Douglass Fund Trust and other endowed funds held by the AADC for the benefit of Douglass; distributions from these funds contribute financial support to Douglass and her students. This responsibility is a key component of our Mission.

In fiscal year 2019, the Trust provided a distribution of $1,344,859 to Douglass Residential College for student support and college priorities as defined by the Dean. This amount included $764,020 for student financial support (primarily from scholarships created by donors) and $580,839 for other college priorities as defined by the Dean, among them orientation for incoming students, STEM-related programs, the Global Village, student recruitment, fine arts, traditional events – such as Yule Log – and more.

In addition to funds distributed from the Douglass Fund Trust, in fiscal year 2019, Douglass Residential College was given $296,909 largely from other endowed funds held by the AADC for the benefit of Douglass. This amount included $190,871 for student support and $106,038 for college priorities. Total funds provided to DRC in fiscal year 2019 were $1,641,768.
