What is the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College Annual Appeal?
The AADC Annual Appeal is our yearly fundraising effort, which runs throughout the fiscal year from July 1 to June 30. Supporting the AADC is a long-standing tradition for alumnae. When the AADC was founded by the first graduation class of 1922, alumnae were asked to pledge a penny a day—$3.65 annually. This evolved to what now exists as the AADC Annual Appeal.
What Do Gifts to the AADC Annual Appeal Impact?
Unity. Community. Sharing our common bonds and fostering the continued growth of each alumna. Unrestricted gifts to the AADC Annual Appeal are used to seize unique opportunities which empower and strengthen our sisterhood, to direct funding to alumnae initiatives that are of the greatest priority, and to support general administration which allows us to be a best-in-class alumnae organization. Per the Agreement, the Annual Appeal is not on behalf of NJC, DRC, Douglass or Rutgers.
Your support funds alumnae initiatives and signature programs which connect alumnae to each other, the AADC and to unique enrichment opportunities. With an emphasis on lifelong learning, contributions support new professional and personal development resources for alumnae at every stage of their lives. The AADC recognizes that furthering the aspirations of each alumna will strengthen the entire sisterhood and the prestige of our name. To cite a few examples:

Yes! We need support from all alumnae and friends so that we may advance our mission and continue to provide a best-in-class alumnae organization. The AADC is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization and receives no funding from Rutgers University.

Unrestricted gifts provide support to our mission. All gifts will be assessed an administrative fee of five (5) or ten (10) percent, depending on the size of the gift, to be used for operational purposes.
